Zane Rencken National Rally

The very successful Zane Rencken Tribute Rally of 2018, was acknowledged as the biggest Regional Rally in recent years. As a result of this success, the National Rally Commission has awarded the event National Status to the 2019 event which is to be held in Dalton on 23 and 24 August. This will evolve the collective participation of the local Dalton community, farmers and businesses for their support of Rally Motorsport with competitors and crews from around the country.

The Zane Rencken National Rally is in recognition of Zane Rencken; a young, enthusiastic and greatly respected competitor, who recently passed away in a work related incident. His father and local Dalton farmer, Mr Kurt Rencken, has granted permission for all race vehicles to utilise his farm roads for a stage, in tribute to his son.

The event will be hosted in the Dalton area, featuring eleven invigorating stages thanks to the patronage of the local Dalton farmers. The main service park will be accommodated by the Dalton Agricultural Hall, providing a great venue with amenities.

Following a WRC style format, the event will feature two loops of stages that will be repeated. The result of this approach is 144.59km of racing with only 81.40km liaison. Added to this the racing/stages will be run on Saturday only, following the likes of the Australian National Rally Championship.

A further bonus is the inclusion of the Zane Rencken Regional Challenge, a stand alone event utilizing the same routes and facilities, making it possible for Regional Competitors from across the country to join us for a spectacular day of racing.

The dedicated and experienced organizing team have put in a tremendous amount of time and effort to make this the most cost effective event the Rally Calendar has seen in many years.

With the support and approval of the National Rally Commission, it has been our objective to meet and address the many issues highlighted on Social Media in recent times. We believe we have achieved this. We call on those who are passionate about the sport, to assist in promoting this event.
