MOTORSPORT NEWS OFF ROAD

ALL RED-LINED UP

Fresh off a stunning performance for its gentleman drivers at Dakar 2020, Red-Lined Motoring Adventures is ready for its next appointment as Ernest Roberts and Henry Köhne and Terence Marsh and Letshego Zulu prepare to take on South Africa’s Cross Country finest at the leap year Dullstroom 400 off-road race 28-29 February.
Roberts and Köhne cannot wait to rouse up the normally sleepy Mpumalanga highlands town in the JCP Roofing Red-Lined Navara and Roberts in particular, will be heading to Dullstroom with more than just a little spring in his step. The Gauteng businessman and adventure racer also moonlights as a drag racer and last week smashed the South African standing kilometre record with an incredible 378.5km/h aboard his monster Nissan GT-R!
“This weekend needs a completely different approach!” Ernest chuckled. “That standing kilometre was an incredible experience but that was all over in just a few seconds on a marble-smooth road. “In Dullstroom it’s back to picking the best path across the roughest roads imaginable, as quickly as possible under the expert guidance of my navigator – Henry and me will be strapped in to our Nismo V8-powered JCP Roofing Nissan Navara VK56 for most of the weekend! “That’s what I call an adventure — can’t wait!”
For Marsh and Zulu the leap year weekend represents a fresh challenge aboard their Red-Lined Navara. “We have run out of new FIA class Navara VK56s due to international demand, so we will be attacking Dullstroom with one of our previous-generation VK50 T1 class Navaras,” Red-Lined CEO Marsh explained. “So yes, we are definitely looking forward to it — it’s going to be a blast racing around beautiful Dullstroom, but for sure we are looking forward to the adventure this weekend — bring it on!”
