This year an official round of the Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series returns to the club’s own event, along with the Bridgestone Time Trial Series which invites all makes of car and all levels of driver to try their hand at the best possible lap time. Joining them this year will be the exciting INEX Legends Championship for an official round. All in all, it looks to be a promising weekend of entertainment and serious racing action.

The event kicks off at 12:00 on the Friday afternoon with practice sessions for all drivers ahead of the serious competition on Saturday. Drivers, crews and families will descend on the pit complex on Friday night for the traditional pit braai- a real social highlight for all. Even the locals mark this in their calendar and join in the fun.

Saturday’s programme is jam packed, alternating between Time Trials Sessions, Qualifying Sessions and Regional Race Heats. It all starts at 08:00 and carries on right until 17:30. If you would like to enter the time trial sessions, you may do so by visiting www.bmwcarclub.co.za- completing a membership application and then an online entry to the event. Please note that MSA licences are required- should you need one the club is able to provide assistance.

If you are not brave enough to take your own car around the track, you can book a passenger ride in the Bridgestone Hot Lap Track Wagon. It is a fully stripped out, roll caged 4 seater race car that will offer you two thrilling laps for just R150. You will also be able to purchase BMW Car Club clothing and merchandise, or ask for tyre advice from the Welkom Supa Quick team.
