Ex-Peugeot Sport director Bruno Famin joins FIA in new operations role…
While leading Peugeot to three victories in the Dakar Rally, as well as masterminding Sebastien Loeb’s Pikes Peak record run, Famin also served as the technical director for Peugeot’s 908 LMP1 program, which was highlighted by victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2009.
“Bruno brings a wealth of experience across many facets of motor sport to this new position, which has been created to strengthen the development of FIA Sport,” said FIA President Jean Todt.
“His passion for competition and organizational strength will be a great asset in guiding and implementing our strategic vision.
“I would also like to thank PSA Motorsport for its cooperation during Bruno’s transition to the FIA.”
Francois Wales, meanwhile, has been named Famin’s successor at Peugeot.
Most recently, Peugeot announced its withdrawal from the FIA World Rallycross Championship, citing the lack of direction in the championship’s planned integration of EV technology.
