The Spanish racer, 38, is set to be part of the Toyota team for the 2020 edition, according to a Spanish journalist.
Two-time Formula One champion Alonso is still in pursuit of the Triple Crown – and is just an Indy 500 win away from clinching that title.
Most-recently, the Spaniard was crowned champion at the World Endurance Championship in Le Mans – with Toyota, the same team he plans to race for in Saudi Arabia next year.
Despite continuing to race in a number of different events around the world, Alonso has closed the door to a return to F1.
NO F1 RETURN
Alonso said: “I have a clear idea of what I’m going to do, I’m not leaving any doors opened nor am I expecting or hoping for anyone to call me.
“I have always chosen where and when I’ve raced because I move according to what makes me happy.
The Spanish driver is one of only two active drivers, along with Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya, to have won two of the three events which make up the Triple Crown.
