Jonathan set to wrap up Formula 4 UAE title

South Africa’s Jonathan Aberdein heads to Abu Dhabi to wrap up the 2016-2017 Formula 4 UAE championship over the weekend of 10-11 March. It is a mere formality for Aberdein, who has dominated the Gulf championship, to wrap it up, but it is not likely that the Cape Town driver will take any prisoners on his championship weekend.

“It’s been a great run in the F4 UAE Championship and I am looking forward to ending it off on a high,” Jonathan promised. Aberdein has won twelve of the fifteen Formula 4 UAE races so far and sits a very comfortable championship position on top of the log ahead of Motopark Racing Taatus-Abarth teammate Logan Sargeant heading into the season finale at the Yas Marina grand prix circuit.
“We came to the Gulf championship to learn the car and to prepare as well as we can for my second year in the ADAC German Formula 4 championship in 2017,” Jonathan explained. “I am delighted with the results and now we can go to Germany in a very confident mood — I just need to finally write my name under that championship first, so here’s to a great weekend!”
