KNRC heads to Mombasa

The 2018 Kenya National Rally Championship heads to the coast for the Mombasa Motor Club leg on Saturday, flag off 6.30am.

The rally has received 25 entries including series leader and title chasing Carl Tundo co-driven by Tim Jessop in a Mitsubishi Evolution 10 NAT-B13, Onkar Rai navigated by Gavin Lawrence in a Skoda Fabia RC2-R5 and Baldev Chager/Ravi Soni (Mitsubishi Evolution 10 NAT-B13)

Roy Mackenzie, the chairman of the club, who is also the Clerk of the Course for the national event, said it had been difficult getting the right stages after cancellation of the original plans so close to the rally.

“It has been really hard after an issue with the previous owners of the land led to the original plan being scrapped. I have now to thank Mombasa Cement for allowing us to use its venue for the rally,” said Mackenzie.
