Michael Schumacher: Close friend hints Formula 1 great struggles to communicate

Former Ferrari boss Jean Todt has revealed a concerning update on the health of Michael Schumacher.Todt, who remains one of the seven-time Formula One champion’s closest friends, was part of a special tribute to Schumacher at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England this week.

Todt told the Daily Express it saddened him that his friendship with Schumacher could never be the same.

In a rare update on Schumacher’s condition, the former Ferrari chief said Schumacher continues to fight as his family takes great care of him.

“His family is fighting just as much and of course our friendship can not be the same as it once was.

“Just because there’s no longer the same communication as before,” Todt told the Express.

“I can only say that his family is taking good care of him and he continues to fight,” Todt told the Express.

Luca Badoer, a former Ferrari colleague of Schumacher’s, has revealed only a limited amount of people are granted access to visit because of Schumacher’s current condition.”Only a few people are allowed to visit Schumacher. His wife Corinna decides who is allowed to see him,” Badoer told the Express.

Rubens Barrichello, a former Ferrari team-mate of Schumacher, was denied access to visit.I tried once but the family refused.

“They said ‘you would not do yourself or him any good with this’,” Barrichello told the Express.
