X-raid Mini comes with six cars including FIA World Cup leader Vasilyev and reigning Dakar champion Nani Roma, Toyota Overdrive with five “official” cars plus some additional Hiluxes under private management, South Racing’s Ford Ranger, Joan Roca with the new Schlesser 4 × 4 as well as numerous other teams from Portugal, Hungary, Italy Russia and Kazakhstan. Besides foreigners the top teams of CERTT (the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship) will also be at the starting line: Zaragoza, Servia, Gracia, Fuertes, Gaig Recuenco …
A total of 67 cars form part of the FIA classification of Baja Aragón; the event is expected to bring fans a great race where victory will be not easy for anyone due of the high level of the participants. With thirteen priority FIA teams this is the best entry list, only Morocco can exceed this figure as the last serious test before the Dakar dunes. Additionally, several Spanish teams will compete in the Trofeo Aragon which allows them to be on the race under RFEdA rules instead of those of FIA.
In the bikes category, we have to note the absence of the KTM Factory team (Coma and Viladoms) riders that allows Joan Barreda (HRC) to be the favourite, but Farres, Escalé, Guasch, Pellicer, Rouso or Zanotti will be strong rivals. Rosa Romero and Laia Sanz don’t want to miss the Baja Aragón and neither the numerous enduro and quad riders who join the great cross-country rally event in Teruel.
We should also mention as top seed among trucks Pep Vila in a De Rooy Iveco co-driven by his son Miquel Vila. Rallyraid.es has been told that the organizer of the Baja has been in contact with Kamaz team to try to bring some of the powerful Russian trucks, but the clashing dates with a round of the Russian Championship, which replaces the Silk Way Rally, didn’t allow the multiple Dakar winner team to come to Aragón.
