TCR grid increases to 25 cars for Thailand

The TCR International Series grid will increase to 25 cars for its first trip to Thailand, with the championship once again combining with the TCR Asia Series. Two teams will make their first appearances on the international series grid, with the Asia Racing Team joining from China and Niza Racing from Malaysia.

Asia Racing Team contested the first event of the TCR Asia Series in Malaysia, winning all three races, before electing to skip the following event in Singapore, when the championship combined with the TCR International Series.

Two current and former World Touring Car Championship drivers will join the field, with Campos Racing giving Hugo Valente a run out in the team’s Opel Astra ahead of the WTCC’s visit to the circuit one week later. Alain Menu will take the wheel of Top Run Motorsport’s Subaru STi TCR car in only its second outing in the series.

Rob Holland, who has in recent months focussed on racing in selected British Touring Car Championship events, will drive the Ford Focus for the FRD Ford HK Racing Team.

Two Thai drivers feature on the entry list, with well-known local Tin Sritrai in the Asia Racing Team joined by compatriot Munkong Sathienthirakul at Craft-Bamboo Racing on the grid.
