Q4 Fuels Husqvarna Racing heads to Welkom’s penultimate sixth round TRP South African National Motocross championship races with both its riders leading their classes. Premier class MX1 leader Maddy Malan and 65cc lad Neil van der Vyver arrive in the Free State with their Husqvarnas boasting title leaders’ red plates and both fully intend to hang on to them.
“It’s been an incredible season and I am proud to take the points lead to Welkom,” KZN star Maddy Malan admitted. “I have really enjoyed my season-long fight with Tristan Purdon and Lloyd Verceuil and I’ve been on the podium in all but one moto this season, but it’s time to win again to keep that red plate. “No doubt my Q4 Fuels team will have a perfect Husqvarna ready to race — we have all put an incredible amount of work into it, but it is still all to do — woza Welkom!”
Q4 Fuels Husqvarna 65cc Junior hero Neil van der Vyver holds a handy 25-point title advantage in his class and plans to add another two wins in Welkom to his six moto successes so far this season. “I’ve had a great year so far and we are still in a handy championship lead, but I have some hungry rivals chasing me,” Neil confessed. “So we have worked double hard in the break to be sure that we arrive in Welkom fighting for wins — thanks in advance to the team — let’s do this!”
“Maddy and Neil both go to Welkom in the lead of their respective championships,” Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “Q4 Fuels Husqvarna Racing has done a brilliant job so far this season, so the focus is on finishing on top too — bring that silverware home lads!”
