His Kalex bike exploded in the centre of the track after being hit by another rider.
Carnage unfolded as a giant fireball engulfed the track, giving a line of trailing riders little to no time to react.
The oncoming riders were forced to blast straight through the flames, including Italian rider Jacopa Cretaro and US rider Michael Aquino, before the race was called off.
